Farm to School

In 2007, Gavin Orchards started our Farm to School Program.
We have had great success with our program and have added a number of schools each year. We supply apples to school districts in Ottawa, Kent, and Muskegon counties.  Our program benefits school districts by providing fresh, healthy, tasty food at reasonable prices.  This program also benefits the economy by supporting local jobs and sustainable agriculture.  If your school district is interested in participating please contact our partners at Cherry Capital Foods.

If you prefer you may contact Kelly Lively-School Food Liaison at 231-943-5010 ext 104, or by email at kelly@cherrycapitalfoods.com.

We look forward to serving your school.  Fresh is More!

APPLE CRUNCH 2016

Eric Gavin, Farm to School Coordinator for Gavin Orchards, traveled to East Lansing Public Schools this week. He shared Gavin Orchards apples to students for Apple Crunch Day. A great time was had by all!!
Many thanks to Sandy Leach, Director of Dining Services at East Lansing Public School for the great pictures!

We are up and running for the 2016 growing season!

In 2015, our farm to school program was very busy delivering fresh, healthy, local apples to area schools in Western Michigan.  This year should be no different!  Trees are forming fruit and we hope the weather continues to cooperate.

See you soon!  We look forward to serving you!
